1. What exactly do you check?

Depending on your selected package, we check a mix of street-level behaviour and contextual data, including:

  • Street noise and recurring disturbances
  • Neighbour behaviour and household patterns
  • Traffic flow and parking pressure on your street
  • Day vs night dynamics and weekday vs weekend differences
  • Pets, loud dogs and car activity
  • Local nuisances and lifestyle disturbances

  • Crime and safety indicators (where available)
  • Local environment and lifestyle suitability

2. Do you talk to neighbours?

No. We never knock on doors or approach neighbours directly. All of our work is based on discreet observation from public areas and desk-based research. We do not question individuals or identify specific households in reports.

3. How long does a report take?

Typical turnaround times are:

  • Essential: 1–2 days
  • Street-Level: 1–3 days
  • Premium Deep-Dive: 3–7 days

Weather, access and scheduling windows may occasionally extend these timelines, but we'll always communicate expected delivery upfront.

4. Will you enter private property?

No. All observations are made strictly from footpaths, streets and public vantage points. We do not enter private property, gated areas, or common areas that require resident access.

5. Do you cover my suburb?

You can check instantly using the address search tool on our homepage. Coverage expands regularly as we add new areas, so if we don't cover your suburb today you can join the waitlist and we'll notify you when it becomes available.

6. Do you offer urgent turnaround?

Yes. Our Priority Service add-on is designed for urgent property decisions or tight auction timelines. We'll confirm feasibility and delivery time before you pay so you can be confident we can meet your deadline.

7. Can I order a report for a rental property?

Yes. Many clients use NeighbourhoodCheck before signing a lease to avoid noise, safety or lifestyle issues that aren't obvious during a short inspection.

8. Are my details kept private?

Yes. We follow strict Australian privacy standards and never share your information with agents, neighbours or other third parties unless required by law. Your data is used only to deliver your report and support.

9. Can I get a refund?

Refunds depend on how far along we are in the process. Once desk research or site visits have begun, only partial refunds may be available. Full details are outlined in our Terms of Service.

10. How will I receive my report?

Your report is delivered digitally to your NeighbourhoodCheck account, with a copy emailed to you as well. You'll be able to log in, download the PDF and revisit it any time from your dashboard.

11. Is this legal?

Yes. All checks are performed from public spaces and all research uses lawful, open sources. We don't trespass, record private conversations or breach anyone's reasonable expectation of privacy.

12. Can this help me negotiate price?

Many clients use our findings to support negotiations on rent or purchase price by highlighting noise, parking or lifestyle issues. Outcomes always depend on the property and market conditions, so while our reports are a useful input, we can't guarantee negotiation results.
